Baked Feta with Figs and Caramelized Walnuts

Ingredients

BAKED FETA WITH FIGS AND CARAMELIZED WALNUTS

INGREDIENTS FOR CARAMELIZED WALNUTS

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 25 g walnuts roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp honey

INGREDIENTS FOR BAKED FETA

  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 block of feta cheese
  • 2 figs
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 sprig each rosemary and thyme finely ground
  • 1 clove garlic sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

INGREDIENTS DRESSING

  • Juice and zest of half an organic lemon
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

PREPARATION CARAMELIZED WALNUTS

  1. Melt the butter in a pan and add the walnuts and honey.
  2. Let everything simmer over medium heat for five minutes until the walnuts are slightly caramelized.

PREPARATION BAKED FETA

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat).
  2. Grease a small ovenproof dish with butter and place the feta in the center.
  3. Quarter the figs and arrange them around the feta.
  4. Add garlic slices, honey, olive oil, rosemary, and thyme on top.
  5. Finish with the caramelized walnuts.
  6. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 15 minutes until the feta is soft and fragrant.

PREPARATION DRESSING

  1. Mix lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil, salt, and pepper to create a fresh, light dressing.
  2. When the feta is done, drizzle the dressing over it.

Recipe Notes

Serve the baked feta best with warm baguette and a fresh salad.
