This year, I’m taking you along on my personal blog recap, thanks to Sabrina and Steffen from Feed me up before you go-go. And wow—2025 served up so many delicious moments.
In this Food Blog Year in Review 2025 – A Culinary Journey, we’ll explore eight questions that highlight the year: my favorite recipe, memorable trips, tiny “aha” moments, and all the times I poured heart and soul into the blog.
I baked fresh ideas, experimented spontaneously in the kitchen, shared recipes full of love, and connected with you along the way. That mix of joy, emotion, and genuine connection makes this recap so special for me. I can’t wait to relive it all with you, and spark a few cravings while we’re at it!
Q & A FOOD BLOG YEAR REVIEW
1. What was your most successful blog post in 2025?
One post that really stood out this year was my pistachio rolls with creamy Pistachio Frosting—maybe you’ve even baked them yourself! Just in time for National Pistachio Day on February 26, they hit the perfect note: fluffy yeast dough, a creamy pistachio filling, delicate pistachio frosting, white chocolate drizzle, and crunchy pistachio pieces. Every bite feels like a little moment of happiness.
The best part? You can join in every year! Around National Pistachio Day, I host a virtual blogger event where you can participate. Sweet or savory, anything with pistachios is welcome. We bake, cook, get creative, and share our posts together—it’s what makes the day so special. If you want to join, hop into the Facebook group or just reach out to me. I can’t wait to see your pistachio creations! 💚
2. Which three of your own blog posts from this year meant the most to you personally?
MY LITTLE TREASURE SHOP ONLINE
This question touches my heart because it goes far beyond a single recipe. My Little Treasure Shop Online feels like opening a personal drawer of my everyday life. In it, I gather all the things that inspire me, make me happy, and accompany me in the kitchen: my favorite kitchen tools, carefully chosen decor, oriental cookbooks, Persian novels, special Persian and Middle Eastern ingredients, and all the little things I use every day and wholeheartedly recommend.
This post means so much to me because it shows the real me behind the scenes: honest, passionate, and a little in love with beautiful things. Labsalliebe sums it up perfectly—a place where joy, personality, and inspiration come together.
RESTAURANT LAFLEUR HOSTS “Sterne über Frankfurt” PRESS DINNER
Another blog post that really touched my heart was my visit to the press dinner “Stars Over Frankfurt” at the two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Lafleur. In June, Frankfurt became the ultimate destination for food lovers, including me. The city transformed into a culinary hotspot as the Sterne Über Frankfurt Restaurant Festival dazzled with extraordinary events, carefully crafted menus, and unforgettable dining experiences.
Several of the city’s most exciting restaurants showcased their personal Michelin Signature Dishes during the festival—dishes that shine not just in technique, but in every bite reveal the chefs’ passion, creativity, and personal touch. The press dinner at Lafleur became a true highlight for me, offering a perfect taste of Frankfurt’s culinary brilliance.
And the best news? Frankfurt will shine again in 2026. The Michelin Guide returns to Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten to honor the city’s top restaurants. I can’t wait for new culinary discoveries, more memorable food moments, and the chance to share this delicious journey with you once again.
TASTING CAMPANIA – FROM NAPLES TO PAESTUM ON THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET TRAIL
The final post that truly captured my heart is Tasting Campania—from Naples to Paestum on the Mediterranean Diet Trail, together with Susanne from Lindenthalerin. Naples enchanted me from the very first moment, not only with its food but with its soul. Loud, lively, warm, and full of passion—it reminds me so much of my hometown, Tehran.
Everywhere I go, I feel this deep joy for life: the love for good food, the buzzing street markets, the beautiful chaos that somehow feels both exciting and comforting at the same time. I feel instantly at home.
Pizza comes out of the oven light and airy, tomatoes burst with sunshine, basil fills the air with its aroma, and the mozzarella tastes impossibly fresh. Everything feels more intense, more real, more alive. Campania doesn’t just feed you—it embraces you.
3. Which three posts from other blogs inspired you the most?
To be honest, I don’t get to read many other blogs these days. When I do have a free moment, I’m usually in the kitchen, grocery shopping, photographing food, editing images, filming videos, or sitting at my desk writing new recipes and ideas. That’s why the moments when a blog truly makes me pause feel even more special.
This year, Feed me up before you go go did exactly that. Their travel stories, in particular, deeply inspired me—especially their culinary journey through Japan. The way they share tips on vegetarian and vegan restaurants, cozy cafés, and exciting bars in Tokyo beautifully captures how diverse and surprising Japanese cuisine can be.
These posts didn’t just spark my wanderlust; they also gave me fresh ideas for my own kitchen and reminded me how powerful it is to let other food stories inspire you.
4. Which recipe did you cook most often in 2025 – and why?
Without a doubt, the recipe I made most often in 2025 was my quick flatbread pizza from the oven. Some days just call for speed, and this recipe delivers exactly that. With just a few ingredients and hardly any prep time, a crispy, flavorful pizza comes out of the oven in no time. It tastes amazing and looks just as good.
It’s perfect for spontaneous guests, busy evenings, or those moments when hunger strikes and time is short. I love how simple yet endlessly versatile this recipe is—a little kitchen miracle that never fails to impress.
So grab your ingredients, preheat the oven, and get started. Everyone gets to create their own mini pizza masterpiece. 🍕
5. Which cooking or blogging challenge stayed with you in 2025, and did you solve it?
One thing shaped my year more than anything else: time. Ideas, clips, and photos often pile up faster than I can share them, and in the end, so much work flows into just a few published posts. Between a fulfilling full-time job, family, friends I love spending time with, and my volunteer work, the clock rarely feels like it’s on my side.
At the same time, I discovered a new passion this year: filming and editing. So far, I’ve done everything with my phone and shared it on Instagram and TikTok, but I truly love bringing my recipes to life through moving images and capturing those small, magical kitchen moments.
In 2026, I want to take the next step. I plan to work more professionally with video and start filming with a proper camera, so I can present my recipes in an even more beautiful and inspiring way.
6. What was your biggest culinary discovery of the year – which ingredient, recipe, technique, or flavor opened up a whole new world for you?
My biggest culinary discovery in 2025 was without a doubt fusion cuisine. I love how different flavors, traditions, and food cultures come together to create something completely new. That mix of worlds truly excites me, and it’s exactly what inspires me when I combine classic elements with my Persian roots to create fresh, unexpected dishes.
You can already find some of these experiments on the blog—just type “fusion cuisine” into the search bar and you’ll discover them. Cooking this way has widened my horizons and sparked so much creativity. It pushes me to be bolder, to try new techniques, and to keep exploring new flavor combinations with curiosity and joy.
7. What was the best (or funniest) search term that brought people to your blog?
Without a doubt, the best search term that led people to my blog in 2025 was “pistachio rolls” Apparently, no one could resist their irresistible scent and creamy filling! It always makes me smile when a search term fits my favorite recipe so perfectly. It’s a little reminder that my pistachio rolls truly are a beloved staple—and clearly, I’m not the only one who can’t resist them.
8. What do you wish for yourself and your blog in 2026?
For 2026, I wish for one thing above all: more time and space for my culinary creativity. I want to develop new recipes and present them even more beautifully—with better photography, more video content, and a real camera that captures every delicious detail.
At the same time, I want to dive even deeper into fusion cuisine, explore new flavor combinations, and share more recipes that surprise, inspire, and spark joy.
Most of all, I hope my blog continues to reach people who love good food, creativity, and connection. And on a personal level, I wish for a better balance between my fulfilling full-time job, family life, volunteer work, and blogging—always with lightness, joy, and plenty of heart.
Here’s to a year full of flavor, inspiration, and unforgettable kitchen moments.
BEFARMAYID!
