Breshtok-e Shokolati - Chocolate Halva بروشتک

Breshtok-e Shokolati – Chocolate Halva بروشتک

Happy Nowruz! Nowruzetoon Pirooz! Sending you lots of love and warm wishes for a beautiful Persian New Year. My Nowruz bakery is going ahead, and for our Persian New Year celebration, I made this no-bake gluten-free treat using a mixture of chocolate and halva. Have you ever heard of Breshtok-e Shokolati – Chocolate Halva بروشتک? If not, it’s about time, as this treat is a must-have for Nowruz, especially for all Esfehanis! My father was born near Isfahan, and my grandma loved to prepare this treat for Nowrooz. In Isfahan, Breshtok is made with chickpea flour and egg whites, topped with pistachios, and then cut into diamonds or rectangles. Nowadays, it comes in different shapes and flavors and is very easy to prepare at home, like my Breshtok-e Shokolati – Chocolate Halva بروشتک. Yes, you heard right – you can make this treat yourself and give your friends and family an extra surprise. Have fun and enjoy! Watch my preparation video on Instagram

Mini Triple Chocolate Cold Dog Cake

Mini Triple Chocolate Cold Dog Cake

A birthday with the beloved retro classic Cold Dog was a must-have in my childhood. So who else has nostalgic feelings and childhood memories with this recipe? The Retro Food tastes great and is easy peasy to prepare. The preparation alone is a lot of fun, melt chocolate with coconut oil and cream, layer between crunchy butter cookies and cover with more chocolate. So where are the chocolate fans? Today, I present the cold dog cake yet in a modern version – Mini Triple Chocolate Cold Dog Cake. We have even in Iran a similar version of the Cold Dog we call Cake Yakhchali, which means fridge cake. The Persian version is quite different soft, and even more tender-melting on the tongue.

Cake Yakhchali - Fridge Cake کیک یخچالی

Cake Yakhchali – Fridge Cake کیک یخچالی

Did you know that the Queen’s favorite cake was chocolate biscuit? In fact, there is also a Persian version of the chocolate biscuit cake: Cake Yakhchali – fridge cake کیک یخچالی. In memory of “her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth”, I made her favorite Chocolate Biscuit Cake. May her soul rest in peace. We will miss you queen Elizabeth. My laziest-ever chocolate no-bake cake doesn’t need an oven, instead make room in the fridge! This no-bake cake has soft butter cookies inside and is covered with a smooth chocolate cream. The fridge takes care of the rest! Cake Yakhchali – Fridge Cake کیک یخچالی is the Persian answer to the German kalter Hund (German No-Bake Chocolate Biscuit Cake). With a couple of slight differences, first, the Persian version is not so hard and firm, but quite fluffy and soft. Besides, I didn’t layer the cookies from the bottom to the top, but placed them vertically, in other words upright in the baking pan. If you don’t like exact layering, you can simply crush the butter cookies and …

Summer pudding with labneh and orange blossom water

Summer pudding with labneh and orange blossom water

Finally we have strawberries in Germany and this summer pudding with labneh and orange blossom water, is packed to the top with them. Ok, the orange blossom labneh is not typically British yet, but I think it goes perfectly with it. Summer pudding is really easy peasy to prepare, you just need fresh strawberries, some raspberries and blackberries, chopped pistachios, some powdered sugar and brioche. The dessert should be refrigerated for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight. The next day, when the summer pudding is cut, it reveals its inner beauty. In the best case, the fuchsia colored filling from red summer fruits will run on your plate. We, at least, loved the combination of fruity cold dessert with the creamy orange blossom labneh. It’s so easy to prepare and tastes really delicious. A wonderful way to enjoy a nicely sized portion of ripe fresh fruit.
