Meygoo Polo Bandari – Shrimp Rice with Fresh Herbs میگو پلو

Meygoo Polo Bandari – Shrimp Rice with Fresh Herbs میگو پلو brings together all the flavors of Bandar Abbas, Bushehr, and Khuzestan in the south of Persia. In Farsi, Meygoo means shrimp and Polo means rice – so quite simply, it’s shrimp with rice. The cuisine of southern Iran, along the Persian Gulf, is colorful, diverse, and influenced by many cultures. Traders and travelers from India, Africa, and Arabia all came to this region and left their unique cultural footprints behind. Meygoo Polo, also known as Havari Polo, is a true classic of southern Persian cooking and, for me, one of the most delicious rice dishes in Iran. Firm, juicy shrimp, fresh herbs, and warm oriental spices are layered between fragrant basmati rice – creating a dish that is both comforting and full of exotic flavors.

Spaghetti al Limone with Shrimp

Spaghetti al Limone with Shrimp

At the end of May, I set off with I Love Fruit & Veg from Europe to explore the enchanting Campania region in Italy. The sun sparkled on the sea, lemon trees filled the air with their fragrance, and my heart skipped a beat with every bite we tried – and believe me, we tried a lot. But one day in Sorrento truly stole the show. We wandered into L’Antica Trattoria in Sorrento, a charming, traditional spot brimming with homemade warmth. The only thing I skipped was the creamy spinach. My family was delighted anyway, and now this dish has become a regular in our …

Haggis Scotch Eggs and with Barefoot Wine to London

Haggis Scotch Eggs and with Barefoot Wine to London

*In cooperation with Barefoot Wine* Today I take you with my recipe Haggis Scotch Eggs and with Barefoot Wine to London. Haggis Scotch Eggs was the starter at 67 Pall Mall, and I liked it so much that I had to prepare it myself. The recipe for the Piccalilli, an Indian pickle, is also coming soon. Haggis Scotch Eggs are soft-boiled eggs surrounded by a layer of haggis and a crispy coating of panko and breadcrumbs. When you cut them, the egg yolk runs all over the plate, so mouth-watering. Haggis is the national dish of Scotland and consists of various offal of sheep, which are chopped finely and formed into a sausage. You can buy it ready-made, and the flavor is similar to a liver paste, and you can buy it ready-made. It goes well with the Barefoot Wine Chardonnay, which is delightfully fruity. A perfect combination!
