What if you could enjoy all the flavors of The Viral Turkish Pasta Recipe aka Yalancı Mantı, without spending hours folding tiny dumplings?
This viral Turkish pasta with ground beef, garlic yogurt, and paprika butter delivers exactly that. It’s rich, creamy, comforting, and surprisingly easy to make. No complicated techniques. No special skills. Just bold, authentic flavor in under 30 minutes.
It’s easy to see why Lazy Manti (Yalancı Mantı), also known as Turkish pasta with yogurt and paprika butter, has taken social media by storm. This shortcut version keeps everything we love about classic manti — the savory meat, the creamy yogurt, and the aromatic butter — but swaps handmade dumplings for pasta.
The result? Pure comfort food made for real life.
WHAT IS LAZY MANTI (Yalancı Mantı)?
Lazy Manti is a quick and modern interpretation of traditional Turkish manti, one of Turkey’s most beloved national dishes.
Classic manti are small handmade dumplings filled with seasoned ground meat, served with garlic yogurt and melted butter infused with paprika or chili. They’re delicious — but time-consuming.
This easy Turkish pasta version recreates the same flavor combination using pasta instead of dumplings. You still get:
- savory spiced ground beef
- creamy garlic yogurt sauce
- rich paprika butter
- authentic Turkish flavors
- But in a fraction of the time.
THE ORIGIN OF TURKISH MANTI
Manti originated in Central Asia and were introduced to Anatolia by nomadic tribes traveling through Persia. Because they could be dried, they were ideal as long-lasting travel food. Over time, manti became a cornerstone of Turkish cuisine, with each region developing its own variation. Today, every region in Turkey has developed its own version of manti, but the core principle has remained the same: dough filled with seasoned ground meat, served with yogurt and aromatic butter.
In addition to the classic meat filling, there are also delicious vegetarian versions, such as potato-filled manti, as well as vegan options made with soy-based mince or spinach and potato. The most famous version comes from Kayseri, where the dumplings are famously tiny. Tradition says up to 40 pieces should fit on a single spoon — a true test of skill.
Making manti is more than cooking. It’s a social ritual. Families gather, fold dumplings together, and share stories. Lazy Manti keeps the spirit and flavor, but makes it practical for busy modern kitchens.
