A CLASSY START

As I take the first sip of Geldermann Grande Réserve Extra Brut on the serene terrace, it enriches the tranquil atmosphere of a warm summer evening. Additionally, the crisp bubbles and delicate flavor of the champagne elevate the moment, making it truly special. It perfectly sets the stage for the upcoming culinary experience, gently preparing the palate with its sparkling flavor. The champagne’s five-year aging process shines through in its taste, a true testament to its quality. The label of the Grande Réserve, adorned with a stylized sandglass in elegant dark blue and delicate golden highlights, signals the start of a magical evening, elevating the anticipation for the delightful menu ahead.

AMUSE-BOUCHE: A DELIGHTFUL HINT FROM THE KITCHEN

I understand that you might be feeling overwhelmed by the situation. The refined appetizers are just the start, leading to small, delightful bites that offer a glimpse of the evening’s highlights. The homemade pane cunzato and lingue di suocera (mother-in-law’s tongues), baked with high-quality Sicilian flour, are truly exceptional. A selection of exquisite butter variations and multi-award-winning olive oil from the Sicilian oil mill Barbara is served with the bread. Traditional breads, prepared with utmost care, showcase how even the simplest ingredients can be transformed into something extraordinary with love and passion.

EXQUISITE STARTERS WITH PRIO WINE

We enjoy the exquisite starters, envision the delightful langostino paired with fine Iberico-Bellota ham, perfectly complemented by a Sicilian Prio wine from Donnafugata. The term “Prio” translates to “happiness” and “cheerfulness” in Sicilian, beautifully encapsulating these emotions on the wine’s label.

The label narrates a heartwarming story: it portrays the unexpected and genuine joy of a woman relaxing on the beach on an early summer day. As the sunset casts the sky in radiant golden hues, she is tenderly graced by a butterfly alighting on her face. This portrayal of delicate beauty and tranquil lightness resonates in every sip of the wine, enriching the tasting experience incredibly.

RISOTTO AND TENDER VEAL FILLET WITH DONNAFUGATA WINE

The highlight of the evening for me was the delicious Acquerello risotto with saffron and Blu Langhe goat’s cheese ice cream. The creamy texture of the risotto, along with the delicate aroma of saffron, paired perfectly with the cool freshness of the goat’s cheese ice cream. This was followed by a tender Ternera veal fillet alla Milanese with a delicious crispy crust.

A chilled, tannic summer wine was served with the meal. The Bell’assai wine initially caused a slight tightening of the mouth when tasted alone, but when paired with the risotto, it suddenly became very clear and enjoyable. The combination of risotto and Bell’assai created a harmonious interplay that indulged the senses.

The label of the wine depicts a young girl spreading the fruits and scents of the vineyards amidst the gentle Sicilian breeze. It symbolizes the Sicilian families who appreciate beauty and have always enriched the Vittoria wine-growing area. The artist’s label of this wine pays tribute to the love of beauty and celebrates the unique connection between tradition and art.

HEAVENLY DESSERTS

The desserts were heavenly. They included Gelo di Anguria, a watermelon dessert with calamansi sorbet, and cantaloupe cremoso with peach and sugo di Moscato. These were served with the sweet and seductive Kabir, rounding off the dessert perfectly. Finally, we were treated to petit fours of blackberry gelatine, mango macarons, and cannelés

THANKS

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredibly friendly team at the restaurant. It was such a pleasure to spend the evening with my amazing dinner companions Marisa, Tina from Mainhomestaging, and Karlotta from favethingsffm. Special thanks to Carmelo Greco, Benedetto Russo, and Gourmet Connection for creating such a fantastic evening! 🙏✨
