Gourmet Lunch with Star Chef Toni Mörwald at the Rheingau Gourmet & Wine Festival

Gourmet Lunch with Star Chef Toni Mörwald at the Rheingau Gourmet & Wine Festival

*Press Trip – Rheingau Gourmet & Wine Festival 2025*

I love Austrian food – hearty, sweet, and made with passion. It reminds me of Persian cuisine, where dishes also take hours to cook. Both cultures love sweet desserts. That’s why I’m so excited to enjoy Austrian cuisine with Michelin-star chef Toni Mörwald at the Rheingau Gourmet & Wine Festival. Austria is one of my favorite food countries in Europe, and I can’t wait to explore its flavors this year. So, grab a glass of wine, sit back, and join me on this special gourmet lunch with Toni Mörwald!

RHEINGAU GOURMET & WINE FESTIVAL

The Rheingau Gourmet & Wine Festival is a special event where food lovers can experience top chefs from around the world – all in one place! And at amazing prices. Normally, you would need to travel to New York to try Alain Verzeroli’s food or to South Africa to eat at Fabio Daniel. But here, you can taste their dishes without leaving Germany! Other famous chefs, like Pepe Solla from Galicia, are also here. Last year, I had a fantastic dinner with Peter Gast from Amsterdam. This time, I am excited to try Toni Mörwald’s Austrian creations.

HOTEL KRONENSCHLÖSSCHEN – THE PERFECT LOCATION

The festival takes place at Hotel & Restaurant Kronenschlösschen in Eltville-Hattenheim, in the beautiful Rheingau wine region in Germany. This hotel is run with love and passion by Hans-B. Ullrich and his daughter Johanna Bächstädt. It is a place where you feel welcome from the first moment. If you love fine dining and great wines, this event is perfect for you!

TONI MÖRWALD – A MASTER CHEF

Toni Mörwald is more than just a top chef – he is a true icon in the world of gourmet food. At just 22 years old, he took over his family’s inn in Feuersbrunn am Wagram and quickly showed his exceptional talent. But Mörwald wanted more! With passion, creativity, and a constant drive for perfection, he turned his inn into one of the most sought-after places for fine dining in Austria. With his dedication to high-quality cuisine, fine wines, and perfect service, Toni Mörwald has made a name for himself in the international gourmet scene.

His restaurant „Toni M” has earned a Michelin star and four hats from Gault&Millau, making it one of the best fine dining spots in the country. Here, Austrian cuisine is served at the highest level – modern but always respectful of tradition. His restaurants and Relais & Châteaux hotel are a must for anyone who wants to experience Austria’s top culinary excellence. His philosophy? “Meal time is life time” – “If you don’t have time to eat, you don’t have time to live” – and you can feel this in every dish he creates.

GOURMET LUNCH WITH STAR CHEF TONI MÖRWALD AT THE RHEINGAU GOURMET & WINE FESTIVAL

Before lunch begins, we raise our glasses for a toast with a beautiful Bründlmayer Brut Rosé Sekt Austria Reserve – a sparkling promise of a wonderful day. The tables are filled with glasses, waiting to be filled with Austria’s finest wines. I take a sip and let the soft fruit flavors of the sparkling wine dance on my tongue. As the aromas unfold, the moment feels even more special – like a little taste of happiness.

In this beautiful setting, I start talking with the people at our table. One of them is Anne Petersen, the editor of SALON – a magazine about hospitality, design, and culture from Hamburg. She is here with her husband and their friends, enjoying the event. The menu card, designed by her team, has elegant flower decorations. It matches the style and beauty of the lunch perfectly. Also sitting with us are Susanne and Patricia from Gourmet Connection, food stylist Susanne Walter and Bärbel from the blog Farbenfreundin.
