Sterne über Frankfurt 2026 – The Highlights

*Press Event for the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony 2026*

Sterne über Frankfurt 2026 – The Highlights was the focus of an exclusive press event at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten in Frankfurt. The event was hosted by the City of Frankfurt, the MICHELIN Guide, and DEHOGA Hessen. One thing became clear right away: Frankfurt will once again be at the heart of Germany’s fine dining scene in 2026.

From May 19 to June 23, 2026, the city will host a series of culinary events featuring Michelin-starred chefs, exclusive dinners, and unique food experiences.

PRESS EVENT – STERNE ÜBER FRANKFURT 2026

Guests at the press event were welcomed by Stephanie Wüst, City Councillor and Head of Economic Affairs, Law and City Marketing of Frankfurt am Main, and Robert Mangold, President of DEHOGA Hessen. Both highlighted the strong importance of the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony for Frankfurt as a business, tourism, and gastronomy location.

The MICHELIN Guide has become much more than a restaurant guide for Frankfurt. It is a global symbol of quality and excellence. It is also a key driver for tourism and the local economy. The awards help shape Frankfurt’s international image. They position the city as one of Germany’s leading destinations for fine dining and gourmet experiences.

Frankfurt is home to many Michelin-starred restaurants. It also has innovative kitchen concepts and highly respected chefs. This makes the city a key meeting point for the culinary world.

The decision to host the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony in Frankfurt again in 2026 and 2027 confirms the city’s growing role as a culinary hotspot. It also strengthens tourism, hospitality, gastronomy, and Frankfurt’s overall economic position.

FLYING AMUSE-BOUCHES & FINE WINES

The culinary experience began the moment guests arrived. It quickly became clear why Frankfurt has earned its place among Germany’s top food destinations.

One of the highlights of the evening was a selection of elegant flying amuse-bouches created by two-star chef Andreas Krolik from Restaurant Lafleur and Steffen Haase from the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten. Each bite was beautifully presented, perfectly balanced, and paired with excellent wines.

The dishes offered a delicious preview of the culinary experiences waiting for visitors during Sterne über Frankfurt 2026.

MICHELIN GUIDE CEREMONY STAYS IN FRANKFURT

The biggest announcement of the evening was met with excitement across the room: the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony will remain in Frankfurt in both 2026 and 2027.

This means Frankfurt will once again become the center of Germany’s fine dining scene. On June 23, 2026, the country’s top chefs, restaurateurs, and food experts will gather in the city as the new MICHELIN stars are revealed.

But the ceremony is only part of the story. For five weeks, Frankfurt will celebrate gastronomy at the highest level through Sterne über Frankfurt, a citywide culinary festival that showcases Michelin-starred chefs, exclusive dining experiences, local food culture, and outstanding culinary talent.

The event highlights everything that makes Frankfurt one of Germany’s most exciting food destinations. Visitors can enjoy special dinners, chef collaborations, wine experiences, regional specialties, and unique culinary events across the city.

By hosting the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony again, Frankfurt strengthens its reputation as a leading destination for fine dining, culinary tourism, and gastronomic excellence in Germany.

MY EXPERIENCES FROM LAST YEAR

My excitement for the 2026 program is based on real experience. Last year, I attended several events during the Sterne über Frankfurt festival, including Sterne über Frankfurt at Restaurant Lafleur, Cider Goes Michelin at Daheim bei den Drei Steubern, the Vegan Summit at Frankfurter Hof, and the Michelin Warm-Up at Moriki.

Each event offered something unique. I met outstanding chefs, discovered creative menus, and experienced the passion and craftsmanship behind Michelin-level dining. What impressed me most was the atmosphere. These events did not feel like traditional gourmet gatherings. They felt more like a celebration of creativity, talent, and culinary innovation. That is exactly what makes Sterne über Frankfurt so special.

And if the first preview of the 2026 program is any indication, next year’s festival will be even bigger, more exciting, and more inspiring than ever before.
